Terms

These are the terms for using Sameplace while it is in early access. They are short because the product is small and nothing is being charged for.

What you are agreeing to

By creating an organisation in Sameplace you agree to these terms on behalf of the people you invite into it. If you are not allowed to agree for them, do not create the organisation.

Early access

Sameplace is in early access. That means:

  • there is no fee, and there is no way to pay one
  • there is no uptime commitment, and no support commitment beyond the address in the footer
  • features can change, and something you use today can work differently tomorrow
  • early access will end, and it will end with notice and a price you can say no to before anything is charged

What you may not do

Do not use Sameplace to break the law, to harass anybody, to send anybody malware, or to hold data you are not allowed to hold. Do not attempt to reach an organisation you do not belong to, and do not use the guest link to get around that. An organisation's owners can remove a member or revoke a guest at any moment, and so can we, if an account is doing one of the things above.

Your content

Your maps, your chat messages, your desk names and everything else your team puts into an office remain yours. Sameplace stores them so the product can work, and does not use them for anything else. Deleting an office deletes what was in it.

Guests

A guest link admits anybody who has it, with no account, until the link is rotated. Treat it as a door key: whoever holds it can walk in. Rotating the link closes it for everybody holding the old one.

Third parties

Whiteboards are Excalidraw rooms hosted by Excalidraw, and what is drawn on them lives under Excalidraw's terms rather than these. The other companies Sameplace relies on are named on the privacy page.

Ending it

You can delete an office, or stop using Sameplace, at any time. We can close an account that breaks these terms, and we will say why. If early access ends and you do not want the paid product, your data is exportable on request before the account is closed.

Liability

Sameplace is provided as it is, with no warranty, and early access is free. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law; everything that can be is.

Which law

Named with the legal entity in the footer, and settled before this page stops being a draft.
